Kimber Lanning is an entrepreneur, economic specialist, and community activist who works to cultivate vibrant, sustainable communities and inspire a higher quality of life throughout Arizona. Lanning is actively involved in fostering cultural diversity, economic self-reliance, regional planning, and responsible growth for the state. She is the founder and Executive Director of Local First Arizona, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising public awareness of the positive economic and environmental impacts of supporting locally owned businesses.

FiBA at NACET

Jeff Saville's September 15th presentation at NACET (Flagstaff's local business incubator) for FiBA members & guests was unreal. You just won't believe the projects that are going on there. The big news is that NACET is expanding out of just tech into all kinds of entrepreneurial businesses. Their goal is create jobs, jobs, jobs right here in the Flagstaff area.

Newest FiBA member, Kathleen White, of Funky Good won the evening's door prize, an hour business development consultation with BelleWether Group. Special thank yous to Chef Sherman Johnson of Brandy's Restaurant and to Chef Jalalieh Marian of Cheesecake&Chocolate for the delicious treats.

Speed dating FiBA-style, up close and personal this past July 14th was another FiBA hit program. Overheard: one of the speed daters said they'd attended several business networking events that week and that “FiBA is definitely the FUN group!” Thank yous go out to JANIS HUNT and everyone at CAFE DAILY FARE for the event venue, simply delicious refreshments and the wonderful door prizes. Thanks also to artist CHRISTINA NORLIN of RAVENS EYE GLASS studio for donating the gorgeous blue candleholder as a door prize.

Thanks to everyone who attended FIBA's September 30th networking meeting at North Country HealthCare for presentations on health insurance & health care options. The program's presenters were Carla Conway (Benefit & Financial Strategies), Elise Griffis (Farmers Insurance), and Rick Swanson's team from NCHC - thanks you guys for all the information - we saw people taking notes! Thanks to NCHC for donating the Door Prize, which was won by FIBA member PETE WOLFF. Thanks to FIBA member John Van Landingham (Old Town Shops) and NCHC for subsidizing the Bigfoot BBQ caterered food for our meeting.
